Oh, How Time Can Change Things
One who was once crude
Is now impeccable
The change
Insurmountable
And almost
Unbelievable
A man
Who was once
Seen as incomplete
Is now
One that
Hordes seek
That is the truth
Put forth
So bleak
Had she known
She’d probably freak
For it was
Her hand
That he’d once
Came to seek
Oh how this reeks
Of unreliability
Just how could it be
That a failure
Of society
Rise above her feet
A scoundrel
A cheat
A person
That one thought
Could never be
Yet,
There he stands
So proud and mighty
Reaping the treasures
Of his hard efforts
And perseverance
Proving to those
That had once
Stepped over him
With condescending glares
And mocking challenges
His mettle and their wrongs
And showing the world
That anything
Is attainable
Given the right
Provocation
And motivation
Silently,
Telling the masses
That there is
No one innately better
Than another.
Silently,
Telling them
That regardless of station
Status can be achieved
Its just that
Some must work harder
Than others
